Frank Ace: Music
Dead Kat Bounce
Here's the story behind this song. I was working as a Chauffeur in 1990, in Phoenix, AZ. I was asked to fill in for a fellow driver, the customer was a stockbroker from Chicago or New York. he mentioned something like "even a dead cat will bounce". he told me "you're a musician, write something about that".
It took me a short time, but I didn't like what I wrote. It wasn't until we moved to ST. Joseph and got a house with a yard. My wife's son had two dogs ( Labs) father and son and they were begining to fight for domain rights. So he asked if we wanted a dog, and we said yes. He gave us the young Lab "Kobe".
One day I was in the studio and heard Kobe going on and on about something, so I went outside and there was the neighbors cat "Charlotte" sitting on my patio deck rail cleaning herself, totally ignoring Kobe. It was then this song came to me. So I pulled out the mike and recorded Kobe barking at Charlotte. Grabed my guitar and this is it. Dead Kat Bounce!
